He was one of the first ophthalmologists in Egypt and the Arab world to perform both laser vision correction and laser cataract surgery.
He has continued to expand his expertise in this field, having performed over 50,000 laser vision correction procedures on patients and on 1,000 ophthalmologists and their families, as well as over 30,000 laser cataract surgeries. He is considered a pioneer in corneal surgery, cataract surgery, and vision correction techniques.
